In this series, we'll look at the 11 different biomes that ecologists study. We'll discuss the specific climate, plants, and animals found in each biome. You might know this area as the Rainforest, but ecologists call it the Tropical Forest Biome. A biome is not just a place, but also the climate, plants and animals that live there because they are wellsuited for life in those conditions. In the case of the Tropical Forest biome, it's always warm, because in the tropics (areas close to the equator), the amount of sunshine throughout the year is fairly constant. There's also abundant rainfall. This means a lot of plant life, which means in turn a lot of animal life! There's a huge diversity of flora and fauna in the Tropical Forest Biome.
