This nature and ecology playlist will focus on the 11 different "neighborhoods" on our planet—Biomes. They each have a distinct climate, with plants and animals that are wellsuited to live there. so you get to see each new video!
The first video in the series is here:
Biomes    • What is a BIOME? Nature's neighborhoo... Â
In this series, we'll look at the 11 different biomes that ecologists study. We'll discuss the specific climate, plants, and animals found in each biome. We are planning a followup series that goes into greater depth about the animals in each biome. If you'd like to help us make those videos, you can support our work here:

If you eat cereal, bread or toast, corn, rice, or all sorts of other grains, you should know about the Temperate Grassland Biome, because that's where a lot of our food comes from! The whole center part of the United States is mostly this biome, and is nicknamed the "Country's Breadbasket." It's not just home to a lot of our agriculture. As a biome, it serves as the natural habitat for a variety of plant and animal life including wild grasses (hence the name), wildflowers, bison, rabbits, mice, prairie dogs, etc.
Much of this kind of land has been developed for agricultural purposes, not just in the US but all around the world. In this video, we'll consider the changes that have been made, and if there's a way to get back to a more sustainable situation in this important biome.
