When a 26 yearold asked himself this question in 1905, he stumbled down a pathway that would start a revolution and forever alter the course of physics but did he make the right choice? Or will a simple philosophical conflation made by a youthful mind wind up posing one of the greatest hindrances to the advancement of human knowledge that history has ever known?
