About half way between Stafford & Stoke on Trent is a town called Stone and on the outskirts lies a beautiful gem of the National Trust Downs Banks.
Great for taking your four legged friends for an exciting walk.

A truly beautiful spot and lovely walks / trails with a small brook running through it, scents of wild animals, woodland what's not for a dog to enjoy.
With a little cafe by roadside it finishes of a great walk.
You will need walking boots or wellies and a towel to dry your dogs off after.
Remember to use some common sense when walking a dog:
If another dog approaches you on a lead then take it that the dog is on a lead for a reason, either it wont come back or may be aggressive to other dogs, always place your dogs on a lead to control them, regardless of how well your dogs behave around humans and other dogs.
Likewise if you know your dog(s) jump up people then leash to control them, none wants muddy poor prints or getting scratched by a dog.
Always carry a poo bag and take your waste away with you. This includes your own trash.
Close any gates behind you even if you find them open.
Resect nature and its beauty along with its wildlife.
As you come off the A34 and turn left as you go over the canal bridge please drive carefully as the road is often singled tracked. The road has a ford by the carpark so be careful when driving through it and remember pedestrians have right of way.
I know I should not have to say any of this but their are some idiots out there who lack any common sense.
The walks themselves are moderate with some slight short steeper bits, can be muddy and slippery.
