We gave the Lake Lure fire official who threatened a volunteer pilot with arrest nearly four days to respond to our interview request. Instead of responding, the Lake Lure town manager agreed to an interview and doubleddown on the arrest threat, claiming the volunteer rescuer failed to "coordinate" before rescuing people the town couldn't get to.
