Mom Kestrel comes in with two prey items and feeds her babies. Junior comes around and gets up there to eat and grabs a big piece and she pulls it back again and he goes tumbling forward at 7:41. lol Mom tries to feed this long piece and keeps pulling it out of their beaks. 2nd prey item at 12:34 and the oldest is passed out in the corner and #2 chick gets to swallow half of it whole! Watch the feet go down! Mom Kestrel had 12 deliveries and all chicks ate well. Thank you for watching!

Four downy American Kestrel nestlings are tucked into a gravelbottomed nest on private property near Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. The nest box is located on the side of a traditional limestonefooted barn, overlooking a rolling grassland that slopes away into folded hills and forests. Cornell Lab & Raptor Resource Project have teamed up to provide this new live cam.The kestrel is North America’s littlest falcon & packs a predator’s fierce intensity into its small body. It's number one of the most colorful raptors the male’s slateblue head and wings contrast elegantly w/rustyred back & tail. The female has the same warm reddish on her wings, back, & tail.
Egg laying dates for this nest were on May 815171921; hatching dates for the four nestlings were June 14161618. The 5th egg was non viable.
