CONNIE & CLIVE WELCOME EGG #1 OF THE SEASON!! ❤11.18.24 (Southwest Florida)
What a beautiful scene at the Captiva Island nest today! Momma Connie began her little tea kettle sounds as she began labor and Clive hopped down from the waiting room! He stood by her side the whole time, standing guard and lending support.
I absolutely LOVE watching the Dad's see their egg and then eaglets for the first time. They are so eager and curious! Bald Eagles are amazing parents with experience. So devoted to each other, incredible providers and protectors of their domain. Clive better plan an extra special dinner for his lady tonight!
We may see egg #2 laid in a few days or so and until Connie is finished laying, they will take breaks from incubating to slow the growing process called delayed incubation so they hatch closer together.
So eggciting!!! Squee!!
