In this Solidworks Assembly tutorial, we will create a model of ‘Computer Mouse’. The design of this model is inspired by 'Wacom Intuos 2 Mouse'.
The assembly of the mouse is created using four components and ‘TopDown’ design approach is adapted. That means at very first Part 1 is created and then other parts of the assembly are created in reference to the Part 1.
Part 1 is quite simple. It is designed with the help of 2D sketching, Extruded Boss/Base tool and Extruded Cut tools.
Then the first component will be placed in the assembly and the next component (Part 2) will be created in the context of Part 1.
This part will be created with the help of 2D sketching, Lofted Base/Boss, Shell Tool, Split Tool, Offset Surface Tool, Surface extend, Combine Tool, CutExtrude etc.
From here we will apply a different approach in the modelling of this Computer Mouse model. We will use the configuration manager option of SolidWorks to create the next part to save time. Watch the tutorial to understand all these things in detail.
