An act depicting the traditional performing arts of various Commonwealth sub cultures, "Carnival of Comon features cultural dances from the North America & Europe backed by skilful play of the Snare Drum instrument indigenous to all these countries. Also featured are tribal dances from the African nations to the beat of African Djembe drums. Caribbean Salsa and Sambainfused dance are performed to the rhythms of Carribian Steel Drums adding spice to the performance. The mysterious east is brought to life through Indian 'Katakali' dances performed to the beat of the 'Chanda' while Australia's rich musical heritage is reflected in Aboriginal dances performed to the haunting sounds of the Didgeridoo. Traditional UpCountry and LowCountry dances to the beat of the 'Thammattama' and 'Dhawla' are presented as part of the CHOGM 2013 hostnation's performing arts heritage.
