China Fumes as 20 Nations Take Part in Combat Exercise over IndoPacific | From The Frontline

Australia is hosting Exercise Pitch Black 2024. This year is going to be the largest in the 43year history of the exercise. 20 countries, with over 140 aircraft and 4400 military personnel of various air forces will be taking part in the drills. The actively participating nations this year are Australia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition, Brunei, Canada, Fiji and New Zealand will have personnel embedded in the exercise. Countries attending this series for the first time include Italy, Spain, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines. And in a first for the exercise itself, an aircraft carrier will dedicate its time to the event, in the form of the Italian Navy’s ITS Cavour. Meanwhile, Taiwan also launched AntiChina drills at a time when Xi Jinping has been calling for the “reunification” with the selfgoverned island.
