Many Maine warblers have more than one song in their repertoire. Here, a Chestnutsided Warbler sings its less familiar, rambling Type II song—believed to be a territorial declaration—early the morning of 14 May 2015 at Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport. Later in the video, a second bird sings the more familiar Type I courtship song, often written “Please, please, pleased to meet you.” (In the background, listen for Common Yellowthroat, Ovenbird, Nashville Warbler, Eastern Towhee (note), and another Chestnutsided Warbler.)
