Hello Campers,
What if I told you that there is a better way in order to find faulty seals on your RV? Let's start with the old way. You simply walk around the camper and look at the sealant. If it looks good, then you would just assume that you are good to go. However, does that really mean that the seal is good there? I'm not so sure anymore. Also, just because your camper is only 12 years old, does that mean that there aren't any leaks. Unfortunately, that is a big fat no! I recently saw a post on Facebook from a highly recommended local RV service. I thought that I immediately understood the purpose of this, so I just had to go by and check it out. Sure enough, it's a positive pressure machine that they put inside your camper so that it causes air to leak out of the camper anywhere that the seals aren't good. And let me tell you, I found some surprises on my camper that was less than 2 years old. There was a leak in the awning rail, one of the slide seals, and around the power inlet box. There was also a small leak in the factory installed furrion camera mount. This all makes me very nervous and very grateful that I decided to go down to Shelburne RV and have this service performed. Now I know that all the seals are buttoned up nicely. I don't ever want to have to go back to rebuilding a camper... especially one that I bought new, but I still have nightmares about this.
