We should really think of a way to thank the bees. They must be the hardest working insects in the world! They do a lot of the hard work needed to pollinate flowers and help plants grow. They also make honey, which is delicious, and beeswax, which they use to make their honeycomb (and we use in candles).

Like all insects, bees have 3 main body parts as all insects: head, thorax, and abdomen. But bees have some additional special structures you'll learn about in this video including a HONEY STOMACH, POLLEN BASKETS, and a STINGER!

We'll also find out more about how pollination works, how honey is made from nectar, and how bees live their complicated, highly social life back at the beehive. We'll also learn about a few different kinds of bees: honey bee, bumble bee, carpenter bee, and even a blue bee!
