BeeBee is a tiny chihuahua with the kind of abnormality that could have crippled a lesser dog. With no shoulder blades, BeeBee can't put any weight on her front legs or straighten them. Yet, BeeBee refuses to let her handicap stop her from living life to the fullest.

BeeBee has always been a beloved visitor at Alpine Living Center in Thornton, Colorado. "The residents fell in love with her, the staff fell in love with her." her owner Denise Steininger says. "She is happy giving licks and kisses in exchange for being snuggled."

It was hard at first for BeeBee to get around on the hard, shiny floor of the Living Center. But thanks to some caring engineering teachers and students at Bollman Tech, a neighboring school, help was on the way. They took on the project and developed a specialized wheelchair just for her.

Now BeeBee roams the nursing home halls, all by herself, cheering up everyone she meets! There are people who come to visit just to see BeeBee, who gives them lick and a little inspiration to overcome adversity in their own lives.
