In this episode of WHO DID IT BETTER, we're featuring REDD FOXX SHOW (1977) vs. BIZARRE (1980). Both shows did the exact same sketch called "Man of the Year" or "Men's Room Mishap," in which Redd Foxx and John Byner play men being honored at a ceremony who make a quick stop at the restroom only to be hit with one mishap after another.

You've heard of comedians stealing jokes, but what about comedy shows borrowing entire sketches, wordforword, from one another? It can happen and it seemed to occur a lot in the 60s through the 80s on variety and sketch comedy shows. After a show ended its run, a creative team would go on to produce another similar show and think, "Hey, I've got a great idea for a sketch!" And thus, the great recycling of material would begin.
