After last week's near disaster, I continued my tarp shelter and bivvy learning curve. I walked past the Hurkling Stones and on to the Wheelstones.
I had to buy a new groundsheet as my other one was fire damaged, and saw a 3FULgear clone of the Trailstar for a very reasonable price. It arrived just in time and proved to be a brilliant piece of kit. I also tried an ebay purchase, a rather ancient Katmandhu Trekking bivy bag. This was also brilliant.
I will not be using Triangia burners again, and this week I have adapted the Alocs seven piece set to use an Xboil, much safer and it performed brilliantly.
Once I had got set up and had a couple of beers, a ranger on a quad bike arrived and told me I couldn't camp and would have to move. We had a brief discussion and he left on good terms. I have included more detail of the conversation in the video.
It was a very claggy night and it was condensation hell the next morning, but this didn't spoil a really great camping experience.
