Aaron Hernandez died Wednesday morning in an apparent suicide, ending a life that saw football glory and offfield troubles that left the tight end in prison on a life sentence. Hernandez finished his career with 175 receptions, 1,956 yards, 18 touchdowns and appeared in a Super Bowl.

Aaron Hernandez was found dead on Wednesday in his Massachusetts prison cell. The former Patriots star hanged himself with a bed sheet attached to a window in his cell, located at the Souza Baranowski prison in Shirley, Massachusetts. According to the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, his body was discovered at 3:05 a.m. EST. Aaron Hernandez’s suicide falls on the same day that his former New England Patriots team were scheduled to attend the White House as honorary guests for their recent Super Bowl victory. Aaron Hernandez was found dead on Wednesday in his Massachusetts prison cell.
