Unique in the world, the H.E.L.P. program Congo is based on the reintroduction into the forest of young orphaned chimpanzees. Cheyenne, Kouilou and Sibiti are the last of their group to find freedom. They will gradually discover the traps and joys of the dangerous tropical forest.
Left to their own devices in their quest for food and confronted for the first time with other forest animals, such as bush elephants and wild chimpanzees, our heroes provide us with new lessons on the behavior of chimpanzees in the wild.
They lived for three years on an island in semifreedom but under the protection of volunteers from the HELP association. Once in the forest, they will perhaps rejoin their old friends, or on the contrary, form an independent group.
The motivation behind this film is to understand through this adventure how chimpanzees react to concrete problems that are so comparable to those we encounter in today's society. Themes as varied as reintegration, social hierarchy, fear of the unknown, the joys of friendship and love or quite simply the price to pay to be free in a jungle where nothing is predictable and where everything is possible.
